The rod which the handles are attached to has seven holes in it. Each hole is a notch setting the handle can be locked into. Depending on the length of the brake cable in your rollator, one of the notches in the handle bar may not be useable. With compact size brake cables, the highest setting (lowest hole) on the handle bar will not be useable. With a regular or Wide track (Overland) size cable, the lowest setting (highest hole) on the handle bar will not be useable.
Replacing the brake cable can therefore change which height settings are available for you.
Extending the handles further than the highest setting may be possible with custom modification. However, we recommend against this as it will raise the center of gravity for the rollator, and may thereby reduce its stability.
